345 FC Shines at Weston Cup in Miami - February 14–16
Cayman’s long-established football club, 345 FC, proudly represented the islands at the prestigious Weston Cup in Miami this past weekend by taking 40 young players aged 8 to 11 to compete in Florida’s largest football tournament. Over 1,000 teams take part in the Weston Cup and Showcase making it one of the most competitive tournaments in the US.
Returning home undefeated, 345 FC three of the four teams won the championships they took part in, with the fourth team finishing third in their tournament. Winning a combined 14 games and drawing only once, 345 FC’s teams dominated their respective age groups.
Each team played three group-stage matches before progressing to their final matches. The U11 final was the last game of the weekend and it was a competitive match with the score at full time being 5-5 leading the game to being dramatically decided by penalties with 345 FC being victorious. All players demonstrated discipline, skill, and team work - all values expected of a 345 FC player.
Over the past five years, 345 FC has grown considerably — and this year marked a milestone: the club’s largest traveling contingent to the US since May 2022. The group’s performance on the field matched the scale of their presence, with four teams (Two U11, a U10, and a U9 squads).
“The results speak for themselves, to win every game across all teams is spectacular,” said Head Coach Peter. “But success at 345 FC isn’t measured solely in wins — it’s measured in the integrity, effort, and growth of every player who steps onto the field.”
Beyond the trophies, the Weston Cup experience offered invaluable life lessons in teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship. Every player demonstrated full commitment, embraced feedback, and left the tournament with new insight and confidence to carry into future competitions.
Off the field, meticulous planning ensured the trip ran smoothly. With over 100 people traveling, the club coordinated logistics, team dinners, match feedback sessions, and bonding activities — all contributing to a seamless and enriching experience. The club extended heartfelt thanks to the parents, coaching staff, and organizers whose support made the trip possible.
345 FC remains committed to providing inclusive, comprehensive training that supports every child’s individual development and celebrates both personal and team growth.
“We’re proud of how far our players and club have come,” said the coaching team. “We look forward to building on this solid foundation and continuing to create opportunities for success — both on and off the pitch.”
