5k will be a slam dunk
The Cayman Islands Basketball Association holds its annual 5k walk/run next month.
The fundraiser is on Saturday 28 June 28th at the ARC, Camana Bay.
This isn’t just a walk or run, it’s an opportunity to help young athletes represent the Cayman Islands on the international stage.
One of the main goals of this fundraiser is to help send youth national teams to compete in the AAU World Championships in the United States.
These tournaments provide athletes with elite international competition, exposure to college scouts and opportunities, life-changing experiences through sport and a chance to proudly represent the Cayman Islands.
Besides a fun and energetic 5K walk/run for all fitness levels in a family-friendly environment, there will be a basketball shootout for kids after the race, raffle prizes and giveaways, as well as music, energy, and great community vibes.
CIBA is committed to using basketball to positively impact lives and build opportunities for the youth. Funds raised will go towards travel and accommodation for AAU World Championships, training and preparation for youth national teams, expanding grassroots basketball programs and continued development of young athletes across the Cayman Islands. CIBA supports over 1,500 active athletes annually, creating pathways for success both on and off the court.
