843 New COVID -19 cases reported on Monday
Chief Medical Officer (Interim) Dr. Autilia Newton reported 843 new positive results for COVID-19 since the last report on Friday, 14 January.
While the number of confirmed cases of the Omicron variant in the Cayman Islands remains at 132, the number of probable Omicron cases reached 2,836 during the reporting period.
Fifteen COVID-19 patients were hospitalised in the Cayman Islands as at midnight (12am) on Monday, 17 January. Seven new admissions were included in this number.
Meanwhile 11 new cases of COVID were reported in the Sister Islands.
