“My fellow Caymanians;
As the election season comes to a close, we the candidates of the People’s Progressive Movement—extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to everyone who took part in this important democratic process.
While the final outcome was not what we had hoped for, we are proud to have earned the support of thousands of Caymanians across our Islands. With seven of our team members elected to Parliament—the most of any party—we are humbled by the trust you placed in us to represent your voices, values, and aspirations.
To every voter who supported us: thank you. To all who volunteered, gave their time, shared our message, or stood with us throughout the campaign—your belief in our vision meant everything. It is your energy, your commitment, and your faith that helped us stand strong together.
Once again, the government has been formed through post-election negotiations rather than a clear, unified mandate. While this may bring frustration to some, it also reminds us of the importance of continued civic engagement, open dialogue, and accountability. Our work is not confined to one election—it is part of a greater journey toward lasting progress.
To all Members of Parliament—regardless of party or affiliation—we extend our congratulations. We trust that you will lead with integrity, transparency, and a deep commitment to the well-being of every Caymanian. Though we may differ in views, we are united by our love for this country and our shared duty to serve it well.
As members of the PPM—whether in Parliament or continuing our efforts in the community—we remain committed to the principles that brought us here: opportunity, equity, sustainability, and good governance. We will continue to be your advocates, your voices, and your partners in building a stronger Cayman Islands.
Thank you for your support. Thank you for your trust. And thank you for continuing this journey with us.
With respect, love and gratitude,
I am Joey Hew, Leader of the Opposition and Leader of the People’s Progressive Movement.
God Bless You, and May God Bless our beautiful Cayman Islands. “
