The community of Paradise Palms in Prospect acknowledged the health care workers who live in the community. Chris Durrant, President of the Home Owners Association planned the Father’s Day June 2020 celebration along with his family and treated the health care workers with strong support from MLA Austin Harris who hosted the event.

The health care workers were surprised with the outpouring of love and appreciation from the community. MLA Harris used the opportunity to thank them for their exceptional hard work and dedication during the fight against the spread of the COVID-19 virus. They have gone above and beyond the call of duty to protect the Cayman Islands. MLA Harris also recognized the fathers, he stated that any man could make a child but it takes a father to raise one. Chris Durrant elaborated that over the years father’s day has been under recognized so he decided to demand the respect that all good dads deserve, hence the result of the father’s day weekend celebration.

Chris Durrant went on to say that he admires the wisdom and good leadership that were displayed by Hon. Premier Alden McLaughlin as he lead the Government during the challenging times of the pandemic. “Amidst the devastation that happened around the world, these islands are now looked upon as a safe-haven, therefore, we should all raise our hands and say “God Bless the Cayman Islands,” he said.

Special thanks to Deacon Townsend who did the opening prayer. Michelle T who blessed attendees with her angelic voice, and Robert Samuels who entertained the audience. Papa, the master chef who ensured that the tasty quality of the Hellshire Fried Fish is maintained. MCreations who provided the beautiful decorations. Pearlina Allen for her kind assistance. Light of the World Christian Fellowship. People’s Choice, and also everyone else who supported the event and assisted to make it a success.
