APPLEBY’S JAMES GLOVER SHORTLISTED FOR CITYWEALTH FUTURE LEADERS AWARD

James Glover

CITYWEALTH RECOGNITION HIGHLIGHTS EMERGING LEADERS IN THE INTERNATIONAL PRIVATE WEALTH SECTOR

Appleby is pleased to announce that Cayman based Counsel James Glover has been shortlisted for the Lawyer of the Year IFC Partner category at the Citywealth Future Leaders Awards 2026.

James is one of only six professionals shortlisted in the category, which recognises exceptional legal practitioners under the age of 40 working within international financial centres and the global private wealth sector.

Now in its twelfth year, the Citywealth Future Leaders Awards celebrate the achievements of emerging leaders who demonstrate outstanding professional excellence while making meaningful contributions to their organisations, communities and the wider industry. The awards are designed to champion the next generation of talent across the wealth management and private client sectors.

The Lawyer of the Year IFC Partner category is judged against a range of criteria, including significant transactions or cases undertaken during the preceding 12 months, leadership and mentoring responsibilities, involvement in corporate social responsibility initiatives, professional development and qualifications, philanthropic activities, and broader contributions to the profession.

Finalists are selected following a detailed submission process and are assessed by an independent panel of private wealth management professionals. Public voting also forms part of the process, accounting for ten percent of the overall result, with the remaining ninety percent determined by the judging panel.

James is a member of Appleby’s Private Client & Trusts practice in the Cayman Islands, where he advises trustees, private clients, family offices and fiduciary service providers on a wide range of trusts, wealth structuring, succession planning and estate administration matters.

Commenting on his shortlisting, James said:

“I am honoured to be shortlisted for the Citywealth Future Leaders Awards 2026 alongside a number of highly talented professionals from across the international private wealth industry. This recognition reflects the support of my colleagues and mentors at Appleby, and I am grateful to our clients for the confidence they place in us. I am proud to be part of a team committed to delivering exceptional service and helping clients navigate complex wealth and succession planning matters.”

Appleby’s Private Client & Trusts team advises on all aspects of trust and estates law, including the establishment, administration, restructuring and termination of private, charitable and commercial trusts, as well as estate planning, succession matters, regulatory issues and trust-related disputes. The team is consistently recognised among the leading offshore private client practices worldwide.

Commenting on James’ achievement, Carlos de Serpa Pimentel, Practice Group Head, Private Client and Trusts said:

“James’ shortlisting is a testament to both his technical expertise and his commitment to delivering exceptional outcomes for clients. He is a highly valued member of our team and has established a strong reputation among clients and peers alike. We are delighted to see his achievements recognised by Citywealth and congratulate him on this well-deserved recognition.”

The winners of the Citywealth Future Leaders Awards 2026 will be announced at a ceremony in London on 10 November 2026, where leading professionals from across the international private wealth community will gather to celebrate the industry’s most promising future leaders.
