Mrs. Candia James-Malcolm was appointed as Acting Director of Public Prosecutions
Following a request for advice from the Judicial and Legal Services Commission, His Excellency the Governor, Martyn Roper, OBE has appointed Mrs. Candia James-Malcolm as Acting Director of Public Prosecutions effective 19 May 2021 for an initial period of three months.
“I would like to thank Mrs. James-Malcolm for accepting the appointment and stepping into this acting post” His Excellency said. “I have the utmost confidence in Mrs. James-Malcolm’s leadership of the team at the Office of the DPP during this time of transition” he continued.
The Judicial and Legal Services Commission will now undertake a formal recruitment exercise for the permanent post of DPP.
