At about 9:00PM on Thursday, 19 December, officers responded to a report of a serious assault at an address off Captains Joe and Osbert Road in West Bay.
It was reported that two men known to each other were involved in an altercation, when one of the men struck the other several times in the face before leaving the location.
Emergency services attended the location and the victim was taken to the hospital for treatment for his injuries. It was later determined that he had suffered a fractured jaw.
The matter remains under police investigation.
