Jeremy Solomon and Jerome Ameline were brilliant
Cayman Islands wrapped up the Caribbean Cycling Championships in the Dominican Republic impressively last week.
Jerome Ameline and Jeremy Solomon represented Cayman in the Elite Men’s Road Race. The 127.6 km course saw a competitive field of 65 starters take on 12 laps, with only 41 riders making it to the finish.
Veteran Ameline finished 31st overall, completing the race in 3 hours 37 minutes 58 seconds, while Solomon was unable to finish the brutal and demanding course.
Born in France with cycling in his blood, Ameline has been racing competitively since 11, inheriting his passion from his father. Now the sole owner of Revolutions since 2023, he brings authentic European cycling culture to the Caribbean in every aspect of his life.
Following the Individual Time Trial, the road race brought two days of championship racing to a close for Team Cayman.
Special thanks to sponsors, Catalyst Group and AA Rubis for their continued support of Cayman cycling and for helping make opportunities like these possible for the dedicated athletes.
