The Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce recently hosted its 23rd annual Golf Classic on 5 November, sponsored by Provenance Properties. The popular event sold out early, with 27 teams competing at North Sound Golf Club in a four-person scramble over the course of five hours.

The Campbells team of Paul Kennedy, Niall O'Dawd, Paras Malde and Darragh Murphy claimed first place and received prizes from Chamber members including Health City Cayman Islands, Bodyworks Holistic Wellness Centre, Island Jewellers, A.L. Thompsons, Cayman Spirits and the North Sound Golf Club Pro Shop.

Second place was claimed by the CIBC FirstCaribbean team of Glenn Abell, Ivan Chang, Dallas Neatham and Mike Montgomery while NCB Group Alan Wight, Matthew Wight, Ian Wight and Payten Wight followed closely behind in third.

Closest-to-the-Pin winners included Payten Wight of NCB Group, Dale Klischuk of Liftech and Hilary Brooks of HSM.

Longest Drive winners included Emma Woodhouse of TRAC Automotive, Payten Wight of NCB Group and Kody Bergstrom of Edgewater Development Ltd.

Jamie English, from Corporate Electric Ltd., said: “We have been really looking forward to taking part in this event - the Chamber Golf Classic is a great networking opportunity and the prizes on offer make the tournament all that more exciting. Corporate Electric Ltd. is proud to contribute to the day as sponsors.”

The Chamber Golf Classic is a charity event and this year donated a portion of its proceeds to Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre, the Cayman National Cultural Foundation, Jasmine and Meals on Wheels.

Chamber President, Mike Gibbs, said: “The Golf Classic is a great opportunity for the business community to come out, network and have some fun while benefiting various charity organisations. Thank you to all our golfers for making the tournament an afternoon to remember and congratulations to Campbells and all the competition and raffle winners.”
