Cayman Air Traffic Visibility Requires Clearing of Land

Land near the cricket field will be cleared to remove the vegetation penetrating the flight path for landing and departing aircraft.

As part of the next phase of continued improvements in operations and safety standards at the Airports, The Cayman Islands Airports Authority (CIAA), which operates the Owen Roberts International Airport (ORIA) on Grand Cayman and the Charles Kirkconnell International Airport (CKIA) on Cayman Brac, will be clearing land near the cricket field by ORIA on Monday, 12 April 2021.

These works are being carried out in accordance with the “AIRPORTS AUTHORITY (SAFE GUARDING) REGULATIONS, 2019” and is a necessary safety precaution in order to remove the vegetation penetrating the flight path for landing and departing aircraft.
