Cayman Art Week will return for a fourth year with five days of art exhibitions and events scheduled across all three Cayman Islands from 22 to 26 May 2024.

Since launching in 2021, Cayman Art Week has worked with local artists and galleries to produce more than a hundred events that showcase the contemporary art scene in the Cayman Islands with open studios, pop-up exhibitions and gallery tours.

“We are truly inspired by the breadth of art being produced in Cayman and we’ve seen Cayman Art Week continue to grow in both the number of artists represented and the number of people attending each year,” said Cayman Art Week founder Natalie Urquhart. “Our aim is to continue building on this success to begin attracting visitors from overseas to come to Cayman specifically for this art experience and to engage with our growing creative sector.”

Cayman Art Week was inspired by internationally renowned art shows such as Miami Art Week which brings collectors and art lovers from all over the world to Miami each year. Originally designed to support artists and galleries struggling during the pandemic, the intent was always to expand its scope to become a marquee event in the calendar.

“We are lucky to have the support of lead sponsors who share our vision of putting Cayman’s art scene on the international map,” said Urquhart. “By putting our dates out now, we hope people can plan their trips accordingly.”

Last year, Cayman Art Week was supported by Patron Mrs Susan E. Olde, and lead partners Provenance Properties Cayman Islands, the Ministry of Tourism & Ports, the Ministry of Youth, Sports, Culture & Heritage, George Town Revitalisation and the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands, along with many other organisations.
