Cayman City Church Officially Launched in Grand Cayman

Cayman City Church has officially been launched following a vibrant and historic service held onSunday, August 23, 2026, at the Harquail Theatre in Grand Cayman.

The service brought together church members, invited guests, community leaders, friends, and families to celebrate the establishment of the ministry and its commitment to serving the people of the Cayman Islands with the message and love of Jesus Christ.

A major highlight of the weekend was the visit of Apostle Dr. Michael Agyeman-Amoako, the Regional Missions Director for The Church of Pentecost in the Americas and the Caribbean, and his wife, Mrs. Sarah Agyeman-Amoako, who were in the Cayman Islands from August 21–23 for an Apostolic Working Visit.

The visit provided a valuable opportunity to celebrate the progress of the work in the Cayman Islands, strengthen, and encourage the missionary, his family, and the entire congregation, while ushering the church into a new season of ministry, growth, and greater impact.

Pastor Ohene Kyei Baffour, Resident Missionary and Pastor of Cayman City Church, expressed gratitude to God, the Chairman of the church and the executive council leadership, ministry partners, friends, and the wider community for their support in establishing the work.

He emphasized that the church’s vision extends beyond gathering people for worship, with a strong commitment to becoming a blessing to the Cayman Islands through evangelism, discipleship, youth development, family ministry, community engagement, and practical expressions of Christian love.

“We believe God has sent us to the Cayman Islands not simply to establish a church, but to serve our islands, strengthen families, raise a generation, and introduce people to the transforming power of Jesus Christ,” Pastor Baffour said.

The vision of the church is to equip her members and unleash them for the transformation of their world with the values and principles of the Kingdom of God.

“The goal is to move members outward from inside church walls into everyday spheres of influence (workplaces, communities, and culture) to impact society with Christian character and principles.  We are more than Sunday services—we are a family of believers who love God, serve people, and care for our communities. Across the globe, the Church of Pentecost run schools, hospitals, youth programs, and community projects, demonstrating God’s love

in practical ways. We believe church should not only be a place to worship, but also a place to belong and grow and be unleashed as an agent of transformation.”. Pastor Baffour added.

The launch also celebrated the growing relationships the church has developed with members of the community and organizations in the Cayman Islands. Through various outreach and community initiatives, the church has sought to engage children, teenagers, families, schools, and other members of society.

The Apostolic Working Visit by Apostle Dr. Agyeman-Amoako further underscored the importance the church places on the Cayman Islands within its broader missions mandate across the Americas and the Caribbean.

The Church of Pentecost is a global Pentecostal Christian denomination with a presence in 210 nations and territories. Its mission is centered on proclaiming Jesus Christ, making disciples, equipping believers through the power of the Holy Spirit, and contributing positively to communities and nations.

Cayman City Church is now looking forward to a new chapter of growth, evangelism, discipleship, community service, and spiritual transformation.

As the celebrations concluded, Pastor Baffour expressed appreciation to everyone who contributed to the launch and to those who have supported the ministry since its early beginnings.

The church believes the launch is not an ending, but the beginning of a greater assignment.

Cayman City Church welcomes residents, families, young people, and visitors to join the congregation as it continues its mission of bringing Christ to the islands and transforming lives through the power of the Gospel.

Regular weekly meetings for bible study, worship and fellowship take place at the Chamber of Commerce Conference Room, Governor’s Square, West Bay Road, every Sunday between 10:30 am and 11:30 am. All are welcome!
