Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce Announces 2026 Careers, Education & Training Expo at UCCI

The Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the 2026 Careers, Education & Training Expo, taking place on Friday, 27 March 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Sir Vassell Johnson Hall, University College of the Cayman Islands (UCCI).

The annual Careers Expo is one of the Chamber’s longest-standing initiatives, having been organised continuously since the mid-1990s. It was established to build a practical bridge between schools and the world of work — bringing employers, educators, and youth development organisations together so students can better understand real career opportunities, emerging jobs, and the skills required to succeed in Cayman’s evolving economy.

Connecting Education and Employment

The Expo brings together private-sector employers, training providers, tertiary institutions, and youth-focused organisations to promote:

• Career pathways across key industry sectors

• Scholarships, internships, and work-experience opportunities

• Apprenticeships, vocational and technical training

• Professional development and lifelong learning options

The event is open to high school students from Year 10 and above, from both public and private schools, as well as college and university students. All school principals are encouraged to support attendance as part of their career guidance programmes.

More than 48 participating organisations are expected at this year’s Expo, offering students a rare opportunity to engage directly with employers and training providers in one comprehensive setting.

Building a Future-Ready Workforce

Wil Pineau, Chamber CEO, said the Careers Expo is a core expression of the Chamber’s advocacy pillar, Building a Future-Ready Workforce.

“For nearly three decades, the Chamber’s Careers Expo has helped young people understand what the world of work actually looks like and how they can prepare for it,” said Pineau. “Today, that mission is more important than ever. The workplace is changing now — driven by technology, artificial intelligence, and new business models — and students need accurate, up-to-date information to make informed career choices.”

He added that the Expo plays a critical role in broadening perceptions about viable career paths.

“We must place greater emphasis on vocational and technical careers and the training that supports them. These roles are essential to Cayman’s economic resilience and offer meaningful, well-paid opportunities for our young people.”

One Coordinated National Effort

While individual schools have begun hosting their own career events, Pineau emphasised the value of a coordinated, national approach.

“The Chamber’s Careers, Education and Training Expo remains the most comprehensive careers event in the Cayman Islands because we represent the largest cross-section of employers. We strongly encourage all schools to participate, so we avoid duplication of effort and unnecessary costs for employers who are already under pressure from rising operating expenses, as highlighted in our recent State of Business survey.”

Call to Participate

The Chamber is encouraging businesses, industry associations, and training institutions that are not yet involved to join the 2026 Careers, Education & Training Expo.

“This is about ensuring that Caymanians and legal residents are the first to learn about the opportunities available in our local economy and education system,” Pineau said. “By working together through one coordinated Expo, we can make a meaningful investment in Cayman’s future workforce.”
