Cayman and Jamaica Deliver Thrilling Performances at 2026 Hockey Fest
The Cayman Islands Field Hockey Association proudly hosted an exciting weekend of international hockey as Cayman and Jamaica faced off in a two‑match Hockey Fest sponsored by Jacques Scott. The event showcased high‑level competition, regional camaraderie, and the continued growth of field hockey in the Cayman Islands.
In the opening match, Jamaica secured a 3–0 win, with Oshane Bean scoring twice and Dale Fearon adding a third to seal the win.
Cayman responded decisively in the trophy match, earning a 5–3 victory in a dynamic contest that featured end‑to‑end action. Cayman’s goals were scored by Liam Conradie, Erin Carruthers (2), Captain Mike Hanley, and Jai Kiran. Jamaica’s efforts were led by George McGlashen (2) and Dale Fearon.
Cayman led 2–1 at halftime, with the second half producing five additional goals as both teams elevated the intensity.
Men’s Captain Mike Hanley commended the team’s determination, “We knew we had to respond after the first match, and the team delivered. Everyone stepped up, stayed disciplined, and played with heart. It was a fantastic team win.”
Women’s Captain Paige Brown emphasized the importance of the event for regional development “Events like Hockey Fest strengthen our hockey family across the Caribbean. The energy, the competition, and the shared passion make this weekend special every year.”
The event was made possible through the generous support of Jacques Scott, and the visiting team enjoyed a special Caymanian hospitality experience thanks to Cayman Diving, who sponsored a boat trip to showcase the island’s natural beauty.
The Cayman Islands Field Hockey Association extends its gratitude to all players, volunteers, officials, and sponsors who contributed to a successful and memorable Hockey Fest 2026.
