The Walkers Cayman Islands Marathon, Half Marathon and 4-Person Relay and the Milo Kids Fun Run is only a few weeks away.
It always takes place on the first Sunday in December so this year will be 7 December. Runners of all categories, from elite to casual walkers, are getting primed. Register online, via mail or email, in-person or at Packet Pick Up. The full and half marathon course are AIMS-certified and the marathon is a Boston Marathon-qualifying event.
The organisers again have the support of the Department of Tourism - Cayman Tourism for the Walkers Cayman Islands Marathon. Their continued partnership plays a key role in the success of the event, which brings visitors from around the world.
Already over 400 international guests – including runners and their families – are guaranteed and numbers are expected to rise as more register in the lead-up to race day. Over 1,000 Cayman residents will be involved in the biggest winter sporting event on the Islands. International runners always comment that it is one of the prettiest courses they’ve tackled.
When the finish line is behind exhausted participants, Cayman Physiotherapy is there. Their expert team has helped countless runners recover with post-race massages — and they’ll be ready to work their magic again this year.
Medical experts from Health City will also be keeping runners safe on the road.
From offering on-site medical services at the start/finish line to lacing up themselves and joining the relay, half, and full marathon, this team literally goes the extra mile.
