Business student Kayla Ebanks has been awarded USD $25,000 as the 2022 scholarship recipient of the CG Britcay Insurance Scholarship.

Miss Ebanks is currently attending the International College of the Cayman Islands where she is working towards completing her Associate of Science Degree in Business. Her long-term goal is to become a business analyst and entrepreneur. For the next step in her educational journey, she hopes to attend either the University of Buckingham, where she has already been accepted, or the University of Greenwich, both in the UK.

“Business is a universal language, and to be part of the industry is one of my greatest desires,” she shared. “I am excited about the opportunity to pursue a degree in management that will establish my future career.”

In addition to her academic achievements, Ms. Ebanks also participates in various organisations such as Junior Achievement, Cayman Mentoring, and most recently, the C.I. Volleyball Federation. She has committed herself to developing the skills and knowledge needed to provide support and service to her community.

CG BritCay Human Resources Manager Audrey Prendergast noted, “We are happy to continue our support of the Cayman community by doing our part to foster and encourage our local students through educational opportunities.”

“We wish Kayla every success and look forward to her return home to become an outstanding member of the Cayman community.”

The CG BritCay Insurance Scholarship is awarded biennially and is worth USD $25,000 per annum for up to two years. It is offered to Caymanians or permanent residents with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher who are undergraduate students entering their second or third year at an accredited university. The scholarship is catered to students pursuing undergraduate studies in actuarial science, business or commerce, economics, insurance, mathematics, or risk management.
