CIAA says goodbye to longstanding manager

The Cayman Islands Airports Authority sent its heartfelt wishes for a long and joyous retirement to Airport Manager Miguel Martin who worked at Charles Kirkconnell International Airport. The CIAA said his unwavering dedication had spanned 35 years at the CIAA, beginning back on 16 October 1989, when he joined as an Air Traffic Control Assistant.

Over the years, he rose through the ranks, demonstrating exceptional skill and leadership, the CIAA said. Miguel became a certified Air Traffic Controller in 1991, and then moved on to becoming an Air Traffic Control Supervisor in 2000, an Airport Operations Officer in 2012 and finally was promoted to Airport Manager of CKIA in 2014. 

His career trajectory was a testament to his relentless pursuit of excellence, the CIAA said.

“Miguel, your impact and contributions to the CIAA have been immeasurable, and your presence will be significantly missed. On behalf of the entire organisation, the CIAA expresses its deepest gratitude for your decades of dedication, professionalism, and cherished camaraderie. lease join us in celebrating Miguel’s well-deserved retirement and in extending our deepest wishes for a future filled with boundless joy, fulfilment, and countless new milestones to cherish. Miguel, may this next chapter of your journey be as rewarding as your years of dedicated service to the CIAA,” they said.
