CIFA to host Concacaf President Victor Montagliani

The Cayman Islands Football Association (CIFA) will welcome Mr. Victor Montagliani, President of the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (Concacaf) and Vice President of FIFA, for an official visit to Grand Cayman on Sunday, 26 Oct. and Monday, 27 Oct.

During his two-day visit, Mr. Montagliani will meet with CIFA executives, government leaders and members of the local media to discuss opportunities for strengthening football development and positioning the Cayman Islands as a hub for regional competitions and international friendlies.

“It’s an honor to welcome President Montagliani to the Cayman Islands,” said CIFA President Alfredo Whittaker. “His visit underscores Concacaf’s ongoing commitment to the growth of football at every level, and it gives us a valuable opportunity to showcase our facilities, development programs, and vision for the game’s continued progress here in Cayman.”

The visit begins Sunday with a tour of the CIFA Centre for Excellence, including the national training centre, and a presentation on CIFA’s ongoing infrastructure and development projects. The tour will be followed by a press briefing at 3:30 p.m. in the CIFA boardroom, where Mr. Montagliani will address members of the media alongside CIFA President Alfredo Whittaker. On Monday, 27 Oct., Mr. Montagliani will meet with the Hon. André Ebanks, Premier of the Cayman Islands, the Hon. Isaac Rankine, Minister for Youth, Sports, Culture & Heritage, and the Hon. Jay Ebanks, Minister for Planning, Lands, Agriculture, Housing and Infrastructure. Discussions are expected to focus on aligning national football priorities with Concacaf’s regional development strategy and exploring opportunities for future collaboration between CIFA, government and Concacaf.

Mr. Montagliani has served as President of Concacaf since 2016, leading the Confederation through a period of transformative reform and development.

In addition to his regional leadership, Mr. Montagliani serves as a Vice President of FIFA, Chair of the FIFA Stakeholders Committee and Chair of the FIFA World Cup 2026 Organizing Committee, overseeing preparations for the first World Cup to be jointly hosted by Canada, the United States and Mexico.
