Editorial: Goodbye 2020

We say goodbye to a year that will be forever etched in our hearts and minds. Unfortunately, 2020 has brought much suffering and unhappiness to many of our residents and the entire planet. As we close this chapter on a year that many never foresaw 12 months ago, we can breathe a sigh of relief that a remedy for the COVID 19 Pandemic is around the corner and a vaccine is scheduled to land on Cayman’s shores in a few short weeks.

No doubt the major news story for 2020 will be the devastation and disruption that COVID 19 brought to our lives.

Our goal at Caymanian Times is to bring hope to all and encourage a culture of resilience as we rebuild our minds, lives, country and economy. The future still looks bright, but we have work to do. The Caymanian Times newspaper will remain the beacon of light as we contribute to the local efforts that will combat any challenges that lie ahead.

Truth, Encouragement, Transparency and Motivation are the foundations on which this publication is built on and we go forward with the confidence and collective will to rebuild our economy, keeping Cayman as a shining beacon for the region and beyond.

To do this we must work together, Caymanians and Expatriates, Politicians and Electorate, Employers and Employees, Government and the Private Sector.

Let us develop a culture of respect, tolerance and forgiveness. Reach for the stars for if you fall short you will still be amongst the clouds.

Happy New Year!
