EDITORIAL: It’s time to go to the Polls
The Government has announced that they will now focus on the Referendum Question and date.
Caymanian Times have decided to reactivate its weekly poll which only allows 1 vote per person.
This prevents multiple votes and the results are tabulated electronically on an overseas server which also prevents tampering.
We have chosen not to display the results on a continuous basis on the website as we have found that this affects voters thought process and does not provide accurate results.
Our next poll which is now open for voting will ask the simple question “Should the Cayman Islands Government move ahead with plans to build a new Cruise Port?”
Voters will also be allowed to make comments in anonymity.
All residents are encouraged to vote by visiting www.caymaniantimes.ky where they can also leave a comment.
Polls close at 6am Monday Tuesday, September 23 and the results and comments will be published on our website later that day and printed in our Wednesday newspaper.
