Elaine Thompson-Herah is having another great season

Jamaican sprint queen Elaine Thompson-Herah continued her build-up to the Jamaican National Championships and the World Athletics Championships by breaking her own meet record at Sunday’s Diamond League meeting in Rabat, Morocco.

At the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, Thompson-Herah ran 10.83 seconds to win the women’s 100m.

A week after she ran a season’s best 10.79 seconds at the Prefontaine Classic at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, Thompson-Herah cruised to the win coming off a cautious start.

“I feel amazing about the race today,” Thompson-Herah said afterwards, “This is my third time in Rabat and I’m super excited about the new meeting record of 10.83 seconds.”

The five-time Olympic gold medallist and two-time double Olympic sprint champion said she would compete in this week’s Rome Diamond League meeting.

Marie Jose Ta Lou of the Ivory Coast was second in 11.04 seconds and Jamaica’s Natasha Morrison placed third in 11.22 seconds.
