The Cayman Islands flag is flying at half-mast on Government buildings today (Monday, 14 December) following the passing of former legislator John Jefferson Sr. Flags will fly at half-mast again all-day (Friday, 18 December 2020) the day before Mr Jefferson’s funeral.
Cayman Islands flags are flying at half-mast at the Government Administration Building and other Government buildings all day today (Monday, 14 December 2020) following the passing of John Jefferson, Sr on Saturday 12, December.
The Cayman Islands flag will fly at half-mast again on Friday, 18 December ahead of the funeral for the former legislator and beloved cultural icon, on Saturday, 19 December.
Current and former post-holders of the most senior public service positions are also entitled to receive the honour of an official funeral. Government’s Ceremonials Committee is currently working closely with Mr Jefferson’s family to coordinate these services during this extraordinary time.
