The 2023 season of CILLA Girls Softball continued on March 30th as fourth place Logic won their second straight game, edging Kirk Freeport, 12-11.

Logic scored four runs in the 1st as Hristina Nachev, Hanna Jackson, Avah Connors and Withney Jackson all walked and scored, aided by one fielding error. Kirk Freeport got six runs in the home half of the 1st. Madison Malice, Daniella Heard, Nelly Hayles, Aviela Ramirez, Kenia Rostran and Destini Rankin all crossed the plate, with Daniella, Aviela, and Kenia all hitting RBI singles.

Logic stormed back with six runs of their own in the top of the 2nd. Hristina, Hanna and Avah each scored their second runs of the night, while Keirsten McLaughlin, McKenna Knapik and Deidre Edwards each got their first. Kirk Freeport scored a loan run in the inning to make it 10-7 as Madison reached on an error and came around to score after good base running. Keirsten, in her first inning pitching for Logic, limited the damage by striking out two batters.

Logic scored two runs in the 3rd as Hristina walked and scored on an RBI single by Avah. The second run scored as Deidre drew a bases-loaded walk. Kirk Freeport made it very close in their final at-bat. Athena Edwards, Mia Groves, Jazmyn Ramsay and Madison were the first four batters, and they all scored to start the inning following two hits and two walks. With the bases loaded and the game on the line, Logic tagged out the potential tying run at the plate to end the contest.

Both catchers, Kenia and Avah, made fine catches of pop-ups behind home plate to earn game balls, and Hristina earned one for scoring three runs for Logic.
