Justin Greaves has improved considerably
West Indies all-rounder Justin Greaves is upbeat after climbing up the latest International Cricket Council Men’s Test Player Rankings following his impressive performance in the drawn second Test against Sri Lanka recently.
The 32-year-old Barbadian moved into the top 50 of the batting rankings and also rose up the standings as a bowler and all-rounder.
Greaves’ brilliant 180 in the first innings of the second Test meant he climbed 14 places up to 49th amongst batters. He also moved up to 69th among bowlers and 17th in the all-rounder rankings after taking four wickets during the series.
The West Indies batsmen also saw Shai Hope climb six places to 51st, Amir Jangoo improve to 60th, and John Campbell advance to 64th, all tremendous confidence boosters.
Meanwhile, Shimron Hetmyer has returned to the West Indies’ One-Day International squad after Greaves was ruled out through injury, ahead of the remaining matches against New Zealand.
