Grenada’s flowers take top prize again

Grenada is primarily known as the ‘Spice Island’ for its wonderful range of spices, but its foliage is world class too, confirmed by securing another gold medal at London’s Chelsea Flower Show in the UK for the ninth consecutive year.

This was Grenada’s 19th gold medal overall.

Grenada’s 2026 display, titled ‘Isle of Spice – A Display of Tropical Flowers, Foliage and Spices’, spotlighted the vibrant flora, rich biodiversity and cultural heritage of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique.

Displayed in the Great Pavilion at the world’s most prestigious horticultural event, the immersive display featured orchids, heliconias, ginger lilies, anthuriums, cocoa and the island’s signature spices, including nutmeg.

The High Commission for Grenada and the Grenada Tourism Authority hosted a special reception titled ‘Tropical Bloom’ at the International Maritime Organisation in London. This marked the official launch of the Grenada Flower and Garden Festival, which is set to take place from 8-15 November 2026.
