ICCI Students Gain First-Hand Innovation Insight During Silicon Valley Seminar

Students from The International College of the Cayman Islands (ICCI) recently returned from a dynamic educational seminar in Silicon Valley, where they explored the heart of global tech innovation. The group visited leading institutions, including Google, Apple, Plug and Play, the Stanford University AI Lab, NVIDIA, and the Intel Museum. They also attended presentations by Larkland Morley, Technical Programme Manager for Cloud Infrastructure Strategy at Google, and Alex Tran, Partner at Plug and Play Ventures.

Over six days, students engaged with cutting-edge organisations and gained insight into fields such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, entrepreneurship, software development, and cloud computing. They observed how top innovators approach problem-solving, build scalable businesses, and integrate technology into real-world solutions.

Instructor Melisa Hamilton praised the students’ engagement: “Bringing our students to Silicon Valley allows them to step into the global conversation on AI and business. Their maturity and curiosity were inspiring, especially when they experienced a driverless cab, which they called the ‘robot car’!”

ICCI Interim-President Dr. John Cummings reaffirmed the College’s commitment to global learning: “Seminars like this strengthen our academic programmes and inspire our students to lead with innovation and purpose.”
