Inter-Primary Cricket Competition completes 4th round of league play
The fourth round of play in the 2026 Inter-Primary Cricket Competition concluded this past Friday, May 22 with a number of exciting games played across the Island.
Results from the fourth day of league competition included:
Zone A Girls:
Red Bay Primary got past Island Primary B 46 runs to 43 runs, Island Primary A edged out Joanna Clarke Primary 47 runs to 46 runs and First Baptist Christian School beat Theoline L. McCoy Primary 82 runs to 78 runs. The game between East End Primary and Edna Moyle Primary was postponed and Prospect Primary was not scheduled to play.
Zone B Girls:
St. Ignatius Catholic defeated Cayman Prep B 82 runs to 80 runs and Sir John A. Cumber Primary beat Footsteps School 49 runs to 29 runs and Marie Martin Primary outlasted Cayman Prep B 51 runs to 48 runs.
Zone A Boys:
Red Bay Primary defeated Island Primary B 106 runs to 58 runs, Island Primary A beat Joanna Clarke Primary 94 runs to 70 runs and First Baptist Christian School outdid Theoline L. McCoy Primary 79 runs to 78 runs. The game between East End Primary and Edna Moyle Primary was postponed and Prospect Primary was not scheduled to play.
Zone B Boys:
Sir John A. Cumber Primary got past Footsteps School 83 runs to 74 runs, Cayman Prep A beat St. Ignatius Catholic 68 runs to 65 runs and Marie Martin Primary defeated Cayman Prep B 99 runs to 49 runs. Cayman International School versus Cayman Academy was postponed.
Round 5 of the 2026 season continues on Friday, May 29 with a full schedule of games including:
Zone A Girls and Boys: Prospect Primary versus Joanna Clarke Primary (at Prospect Primary), Theoline L. McCoy Primary versus Red Bay Primary (at Theoline L. McCoy Primary), Island Primary A versus Edna Moyle Primary (at the Smith Road Oval) and East End Primary versus First Baptist Christian School at Edna Moyle Primary. Island Primary B is not scheduled to play.
Zone B Girls and Boys: Cayman International School versus Footsteps School (at Camana Bay), Marie Martin Primary versus Cayman Prep A (at the Annex Field) and Sir John A. Cumber Primary versus St. Ignatius Catholic School (at Sir John A. Cumber Primary). The young ladies from Cayman Prep B are not scheduled to play.
The 2026 competition runs from April to June with 15 participating schools that are divided into two zones (Zone A and B) in the girls’ and boys’ leagues. Games are 12 overs for boys and 8 overs for girls with each bowler restricted to bowling 3 overs (boys) and 2 overs (girls). Field sizes are roughly half a football field and teams consist of 11 players. Games are played on Friday afternoons starting at noon (girls) and 1:00 p.m. (boys) at various primary school and sports field venues.
The Inter-Primary Cricket Competition is organised and coordinated by the Department of Education Services, the Department of Sports and the Cayman Cricket Association and sponsored in part by Caribbean Utilities Company, Ltd. (CUC).
Parents and supporters are encouraged to come out and cheer on our young cricketers.
