Joint Statement by the Ministry of Tourism and Trade Development and the Cayman Islands National Attractions Authority Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of the Cayman Islands National Attractions Authority (CINAA) on Friday November 28th made a decision to place the Director of the CINAA on Administrative Leave effective immediately, and until further notice.

The Cayman Islands Government Internal Audit Service (IAS) has been conducting an investigation and audit into a number of serious allegations concerning the Director and other senior staff at the CINAA.

Following a recent update from the IAS, the Board of Directors has determined that at this juncture the action taken today is in the best interest of the CINAA.

Mr. John Lawrus, General Manager, will act as Director in the interim and until further notice.

At the appropriate time in the future, further public statements will be made.
