Knighthead Annuity donated an incredible US$30,000.00 to Jasmine Palliative & Hospice Care (Jasmine) to help with operating expenses in the face of the ongoing pandemic.
Jasmine, like most health care facilities, has seen an increase in demand and expenses since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Felicia McLean, Jasmine’s Director of Operations explains: “Whether it’s because people are nervous to go to the hospital or the public is generally more aware of our services, Jasmine has seen a marked increase in referrals.” The ability to meet this increase load is dependant the generosity of donors to meet the need of the Cayman community, because unlike other health care facilities, Jasmine does not charge its patients for services.
The COVID-19 pandemic also presented challenges in fundraising as we couldn’t engage donors in the same ways. This donation from Knighthead Annuity is so meaningful to us because it allows us to continue provide our essential services and expand where needed to meet the growing needs of the organisation. We are incredibly grateful to them for their support and faith in our organization.”
Knighthead Annuity’s Chief Executive Officer, Gary Dombowsky, shares why they chose to make this donation:
“When choosing which organization to donate to in 2022, our team collectively agreed that Jasmine was highly deserving of the support as we all have, in some way, experienced the need for specialized care or bereavement services, either personally or for family members, loved ones, or friends. The services Jasmine provides, free of charge to all Caymanian Residents, is truly remarkable.
At Knighthead, we take our corporate and social responsibility program seriously and our partnership with Jasmine is an example of that commitment. We strongly encourage the entire Cayman community to also support this incredible organization in any way possible.”
Jasmine continues to focus on providing effective and meaningful ways for Cayman’s expansive business sector to satisfy their community involvement initiatives. Those looking to follow Knighthead Annuity’s lead and join Jasmine in providing care for those in Cayman facing life-limiting illnesses or requiring end of life care are encouraged to reach out to Ansley Easterlin, Fundraising Manager, Jasmine.
