Knighthead Annuity donated an incredible US$30,000.00 to Jasmine Palliative & Hospice Care (Jasmine) to help with operating expenses in the face of the ongoing pandemic.
Jasmine, like most health care facilities, has seen an increase in demand and expenses since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Felicia McLean, Jasmine’s Director of Operations explains: “Whether it’s because people are nervous to go to the hospital or the public is generally more aware of our services, Jasmine has seen a marked increase in referrals.” The ability to meet this increase load is dependant the generosity of donors to meet the need of the Cayman community, because unlike other health care facilities, Jasmine does not charge its patients for services.
The COVID-19 pandemic also presented challenges in fundraising as we couldn’t engage donors in the same ways. This donation from Knighthead Annuity is so meaningful to us because it allows us to continue provide our essential services and expand where needed to meet the growing needs of the organisation. We are incredibly grateful to them for their support and faith in our organization.”
