KPMG in the Cayman Islands Announces Promotion of Two New Partners

KPMG in the Cayman Islands is pleased to announce the promotion of Harvey Gowers and Sean Cowan to Partner within its Audit practice, reinforcing the firm’s continued commitment to excellence, growth, and leadership across the Cayman Islands and the region.

Harvey Gowers began his career with KPMG in the United Kingdom before relocating to the Cayman Islands, where he joined the firm’s insurance practice. Since then, he has played a pivotal role in driving KPMG’s expansion, particularly within the reinsurance sector.

Harvey is widely recognized for his strong insurance industry presence, regularly attending and speaking at conferences both locally, such as the Captive Conference, and internationally. In 2025, he was named in Captive International’s Forty Under 40 List, reflecting his growing influence within the insurance and captive market.

An advocate for quality, Harvey contributes to internal audit quality support networks and quality monitoring teams. As a People Leader, he is dedicated to fostering an environment where colleagues feel supported, challenged, and empowered to develop their careers.

Sean Cowan brings over 20 years of audit experience, having started his career in Canada before relocating to the Cayman Islands in 2011. Throughout his tenure with KPMG, Sean has demonstrated a strong commitment to both client service and the continuous enhancement of audit delivery.

Sean is deeply invested in developing talent in the Cayman Islands as well as across KPMG’s wider global network. He is passionate about creating opportunities for people to grow and succeed, and his collaborative approach with emerging leaders in Cayman and within offshore teams has contributed to the continued strength and organic growth of the practice.
