LOGIC COMMUNICATIONS AND UCCI PARTNER TO LAUNCH NEW TECHNOLOGY-FOCUSED SCHOLARSHIP
The University College of the Cayman Islands (UCCI) and Logic Communications Ltd have entered into a new scholarship agreement aimed at supporting Caymanian students pursuing technology-related degrees. The scholarship will begin in January 2026 and represents a continued effort to bridge the gap between education and workforce needs in the digital sector. As Cayman positions itself for a more diversified and innovation-driven economy, developing local talent in technology will be essential to maintaining competitiveness and ensuring long-term national growth.
Under the agreement, Logic Communications will provide an annual scholarship of $5,000 KYD to fund tuition, fees, books, and materials for one eligible Caymanian student each academic year. The award is specifically intended for students enrolled in information technology, cybersecurity, or other technology-driven programmes.
Eligible applicants must be full-time Caymanian students enrolled in an approved UCCI programme, maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0, and demonstrate financial need. The scholarship also encourages recipients to be open to internship or work experience opportunities with Logic or within the broader tech sector.
“The launch of this scholarship reflects our shared commitment to supporting Caymanian students preparing for careers in technology,” said Nanalie Cover, Acting President & CEO at UCCI. “We thank Logic for its partnership in equipping students with the tools and support needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.”
Jeff Hart, General Manager of Logic Cayman said, “We are proud to invest in the next generation of Caymanian tech professionals. This scholarship supports students who are passionate about innovation and committed to building a career in technology.”
Applications for the Logic UCCI Scholarship are now open and will close on 10 December 2025 for the 2026 academic intake. Interested students can visit www.ucci.edu.ky/scholarships or contact the UCCI Admissions Office for more information.
This partnership supports UCCI’s broader mission to align academic opportunities with the evolving needs of Cayman’s economy and create more pathways for young Caymanians to succeed in high-demand industries. As UCCI celebrates its 50th anniversary under the theme “Honouring the Past, Inspiring the Future,” initiatives like this scholarship reflect the university’s continued commitment to building a skilled, future-ready workforce for the next 50 years and beyond.
