Man Arrested for Firearm and Drug Offences

On Wednesday, 10 June, officers conducted a search of the residence and a vehicle of a man, age 43 residing in George Town, under the Firearms Act and Misuse of Drugs Act.
Officers recovered a quantity of suspected cocaine and during the search of his vehicle, officers recovered a quantity of suspected ganja.
Following a search inside the premises, officers recovered a firearm and a quantity of ammunition.
The items were seized and taken into police custody for investigative purposes.
The 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an unlicensed firearm, possession of ammunition, possession of cocaine, possession of ganja, and possession of ganja with intent to supply.
The man remains in custody whilst the matter is under police investigation.
