Minister Jay Ebanks Welcomes Newly Appointed Central Planning Authority Board, Focuses on Plan Cayman and New Planning Regulations

Minister Jay extends a warm welcome to the newly appointed CPA Board.

Minister for Planning, Lands, Agriculture, Housing, & Infrastructure (PLAHI), Honourable Johany “Jay” Ebanks, joined the newly appointed members of the Central Planning Authority (CPA) Board for their first official meeting yesterday. Minister Jay took the opportunity to personally welcome the board members and underscore the importance of advancing the Cayman Islands’ development framework under the new planning regulations and the strategic vision of PlanCayman.

“Today marks an important step forward for planning in the Cayman Islands,” said Minister Ebanks. “With the expertise and commitment of the new CPA Board, we will continue to ensure that sustainable development is at the heart of every decision, guided by the principles outlined in Plan Cayman.”

The newly appointed Central Planning Authority Board Members are:

• Mr. Ian Pairaudeau (Chairperson)

• Mr. Handel Whittaker (Deputy Chairperson)

• Mr. Troy B. Powery

• Mr. Robert Bodden

• Mr. Dominic Williams

• Mr. Richard Hurlstone Sr.

• Mr. Peter Campbell

• Mr. Kenneth Ebanks

• Mr. Eduardo Thompson

• Mrs. Betty-Anne Ebanks

• Mrs. Christine Maltman

• Mr. Osbert Francis

• Mr. Stephen Tatum

• Mr. Haroon Pandohie (Executive Secretary)

Minister Jay emphasised the critical role of the CPA in shaping development policy, ensuring adherence to the new planning regulations, and guiding the Islands’ growth in alignment with PlanCayman’s long-term vision.
