Ministry of Education, District Administration and Lands (MEDAL) Officials Tour District Administration

Minister of Education, District Administration and Lands (EDAL) The Honorable Juliana O’Connor-Connolly led a team of Ministry officials on a familiarisation tour of the District Administration Department last Thursday (6 May).

Accompanied by District Commissioner Mr. Mark Tibbetts, the team, including MEDAL Chief Officer Ms. Cetonya Cacho and Deputy Chief Officers Ms. Lyneth Monteith and Mr. Wilbur Welcome, met with the section heads for District Administration, Water Authority Cayman and the Public Works Department and Sister Islands Sports to get an overview of their key functions, to ascertain their immediate concerns and apprise the team of some of the Ministry’s goals.

During the meeting with the various section heads, Minister O’Connor-Conolly expressed her delight at the opportunity to work with each of the units/sections.”

“I am honored that I have been asked to lead this team, and look forward to working with you all in this new Ministry. The combination of Education, District Administration and Lands is quite exciting as it provides us with a wide scope within which to work, allowing us to propel and maximise our [The Ministry’s] full potential.”

The team also toured the Planning Unit, The Cayman Brac Museum, Public Works Department, The Asphalt Plant, Heritage House, and several facilities, including the new multipurpose hall and Sports Complex.
