Ministry Releases Promotional Video Ahead of Pirates Week Festival, Themed “Spirits, Gold and Glory”

The Ministry of Youth, Sports, Culture and Heritage has released the official promotional video ahead of the 49th staging of the Pirates Week Festival, which will be held under the theme “Spirits, Gold and Glory.” The promotional video can be viewed at https://youtu.be/KoENXm7DFlQ?si=8gXIdxCGHKCTi_tk .

This year’s theme reflects the strength, mystery, resilience and adventurous spirit of the Cayman Islands’ national festival. Pirates Week Festival 2026 will run across all three Cayman Islands on a staggered schedule:

• Cayman Brac from 30–31 October

• Grand Cayman from 3–14 November and

• Little Cayman from 20–22 November.

In commenting on the upcoming plans, Minister for Youth, Sports, Culture and Heritage, Honourable Isaac Rankine said, “After a tremendously successful 2025 Pirates Week Festival, we are excited and optimistic about delivering an even bigger and better experience in 2026. Pirates Week continues to be one of the Cayman Islands’ premier national festivals, celebrating our heritage, culture, community spirit and the adventurous maritime history that has shaped who we are as a people. Building on the momentum of last year, we are committed to making this year’s festival even more dynamic, engaging and memorable for residents and visitors alike.”

Festival favourites and opportunities for public participation will return, including the Pirates Week song competition, t-shirt competition and the highly anticipated night parade.
