The Miss Cayman Islands Committee has been granted the Miss Universe license. Committee Chairperson, Derri Lee said that the Committee is excited about this milestone and looks forward to continuing their work which started over 20 years ago, empowering and mentoring young ladies in the Cayman Islands.
Committee Chairperson, Derri Lee has indicated that she has been spearheading the restructuring of the Committee since the Ministry of Tourism’s announcement regarding the franchise. She said there will be some exciting changes in a couple of weeks including the appointment of a new Chairperson which will be announced soon.
The Miss Universe Organization has appointed Derri Lee as the National Director. Derri said, the Committee is paramount to building strong lasting relationships with our sponsors and we have gained quite a number. We have worked hard to maintain our sponsors over the years and they understand our vision.
The Committee would like to thank in particular the Cayman Islands Government Ministry of Tourism for their tremendous support over the years. Thanks for believing in us.
We are also thankful to the beautiful Chloe Powery-Doxey, for all her hard work and dedication during this time as well as the continued support from the general public.
The Committee acknowledges that the Cayman Islands is a conservative community and we will adhere to this culture.
Crowning for the beautiful Chloe Powery-Doxey will be announced at a later date, the public are welcomed to attend.
