Just after 9:25AM on Monday 21st September, police and other emergency services were dispatched to a report of a motor vehicle collision between a silver Honda Accord sedan and a white Cement Mixer Truck.
The collision took place when the Honda Accord with two occupants entered South Sound Road from Shamrock Road just as the Cement Mixer Truck was exiting a construction site located at the entrance of the South Sound Road.
As a result of the collision, the occupants of the Honda Accord had to be extricated by the Cayman Islands Fire Service and one of the occupants was then transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital by ambulance.
The injured party remains in the hospital, and is being treated for what is believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. No other persons involved reported injuries.
The incident is currently under investigation.
