National Interfaith Conference 2026 Promotes Unity and Co-Existence in the Cayman Islands

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community successfully hosted the National Interfaith Conference 2026 on Saturday, May 9th at George Town Hall under the inspiring theme, “Co-Existence.”

The event brought together representatives from several major faith traditions and community leaders who delivered educational and heartfelt presentations on how their respective religions and experiences promote love, compassion, peace, and respect for all humanity regardless of faith, race, or social status.

Special guest speaker Dr. Susan Young, a local professor and lecturer, addressed attendees on the importance of educating the Cayman community about different faiths and cultures, emphasizing that “ignorance breeds fear.” Her remarks highlighted the need for greater understanding and dialogue within an increasingly diverse society.

Dr. Sylvia Wilks also attended the conference and shared valuable advice on how people of different faiths and backgrounds can better integrate, communicate, and build stronger relationships within the wider community.

The distinguished faith representatives included:

• Ms. Monisha Batra, representing the Hindu faith

• Imam Sagher Bajwa, speaking on behalf of Islam

• Mr. Ishan Singh, representing Sikhism

• Elder Matt Krell, speaking on behalf of the Christian faith

Throughout the conference, attendees were given a valuable opportunity to engage with people from different religious backgrounds, ask meaningful questions, and learn from one another in an atmosphere of mutual respect and understanding.

In addition to the presentations, each faith group hosted informational book stalls where members of the public were offered free literature and educational materials about their beliefs and traditions.

The program concluded with an engaging and interactive question-and-answer session, allowing participants and attendees to further deepen interfaith dialogue and understanding.

The response from the community was overwhelmingly positive, with many attendees expressing appreciation that such an initiative is taking place in the Cayman Islands. Participants strongly emphasized the importance of continuing and expanding interfaith efforts that promote harmony, understanding, and unity within the diverse Caymanian community.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community extends its sincere gratitude to all speakers, volunteers, participants, and attendees who contributed to making the National Interfaith Conference 2026 a great success.
