The National Trust for the Cayman Islands welcomes new Executive Director Annick Jackman who will take over from outgoing Executive Director Nadia Hardie on 12th October 2020.
National Trust Chairman Olson Anderson, on behalf of the Council, expressed how pleased they are to welcome Ms. Jackman as Executive Director to the Trust. Adding, “Coming to us from the tourism industry, Annick has the experience, passion and expertise which is paramount to the continued success of the Trust. I have no doubt she will continue to drive the Trust forward, bringing a level of creativity and energy needed in these interesting and challenging times.”
With a keen interest in preserving Cayman’s unique environment and heritage, Ms. Jackman’s prior expertise encompasses advertising and marketing, strategic development of Latin American markets and high-profile events in Cayman’s tourism sector. She has also been heavily involved in public speaking training through the Toastmasters Organization. All of which will be an asset to the National Trust for the Cayman Islands. She commented “While working in the Tourism Industry I had many an opportunity to see how much people appreciated Cayman’s heritage and environment. It fueled my desire to promote awareness of what is ours and to protect our history and environment in a sustainable way. I was truly happy to have a transition period from the 5th of October with outgoing Executive Director Nadia Hardie.”
Ms Hardie has been the Executive Director for the National Trust since April 2018 and is leaving the Islands to pursue new adventures in New Zealand with her husband and daughters after 35 years in Cayman.
Reflecting on her time at the National Trust, Nadia Hardie commented “It’s been my absolute honour working at the National Trust. I’m sad to be saying farewell but am delighted in the knowledge that we have found such a wonderful replacement in Annick Jackman. I know the National Trust and its mandate will be in safe hands under new National Trust Chairman, Olson Anderson and Annick. I wish the new leadership all the very best”.
