Government 1 hour ago Follow News

Government Officials, Youth Organisations, families, sponsors and supporters gathered to celebrate the latest 2025-2026 Proud of Them Honourees

Nominations for the prestigious Proud of Them Youth Recognition Awards open on Sunday, 1 March 2026.  Caymanian youth aged 10 to 25 may be nominated, including self-nominations, in the categories of Academics, Sports, Community Service, Business, Career and Culture. The deadline for submissions is Saturday, 21 March 2026 at 11:59PM. To submit a nomination or learn more, visit www.youthservices.ky/proudofthem .

Following the nomination review process, 15 youth honourees and two (2) Rising Stars will be recogised at the annual Proud of Them Gala hosted in November. The event publicly acknowledges the awardees accomplishments in their respective fields. A Public Relations campaign will then be launched to formally announce the recipients, supported by billboards and national promotion across the Cayman Islands.

Youth Minister, Hon. Isaac Rankine said, “I encourage families and community members to nominate at least one deserving young person. We have no shortage of brilliant young people who are excelling across many fields, and they deserve to be recognised and celebrated.”

Over the past 13 years, the programme’s alumni network has grown to approximately 180 young Caymanians who have gone on to make meaningful contributions in the Cayman Islands. Alumni include Olympians, civic leaders, performers, artists, entrepreneurs and innovators across Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac. The programme is supported by private sector partners including Greenlight RE and McAlpine, whose sponsorship helps sustain and grown the initiative.

Nominations, including self-nominations, may be submitted online at www.youthservices.ky/proudofthem . For more information, contact the Youth Services Unit at info.ysu@gov.ky .
