The Cayman Islands Public Library Service (CIPLS) announces the 2021 staging of the North Side Public Library’s ‘Eggciting Easter Bonnet Competition.

Highlighting the purpose of the event, North Side Public Library Branch Manager Ms. Andrea Taffe said, “This competition aims at encouraging children between the ages of 6-17 years to maximise their resourcefulness by designing and crafting Easter bonnets from recyclable materials including plastic bottles, cardboard, dried leaves or any other material that is widely accessible in their immediate surroundings.”

To enter, email a photo of handmade bonnets to northside@caymanlibraries.gov.ky before 26 March 2021. The body of the email must include the entrant’s name, address, telephone number, age, and the name of their parent or guardian.

Ms. Taffe encouraged prospective entrants to visit the North Side Public Library on March 27. “Come out and join us at the North Side Public Library at 11: 00 AM on Saturday, 27 March, as we reward you for your participation and announce the three most resourceful entrants.”

“Remember to bring your bonnets,” she added.
