Just after 10PM, Thursday 5th August, police were dispatched to a report of a burglary where the victim was indecently assaulted. The incident took place at Silver Oaks residential complex on Crewe Road, George Town.
It was reported that the victim, a female occupant of the residence, heard noises coming from a section of her apartment. Subsequently, the victim was attacked by an unknown male intruder. A physical altercation ensued and the victim was injured and indecently assaulted. The victim managed to escape the attacker and fled the residence to seek help from a neighbour.
The victim attended George Town Hospital where she was examined and treated for injuries. Detectives are encouraging anyone who may have seen the intruder or have any information related to this incident to call the George Town Police Station at 949-4222.
