Police Investigate Serious Single-Vehicle Collision on Walker’s Road

On Friday, 17 July, officers and emergency services responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision on Walker’s Road in George Town.

It is reported that shortly after 3:30AM, a blue Suzuki Swift travelling along Walker’s Road struck a perimeter fence and a light pole.

The driver, who was trapped inside, was assisted from the vehicle by the Cayman Islands Fire Service and transported to the hospital for treatment of what are believed to be serious injuries. The driver is reported to be in critical condition.

A police cordon on Walker’s Road that was put in place while officers processed the scene has since been lifted. Walker’s Road is now open to vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

The matter remains under investigation by the Traffic and Roads Policing Unit.
