Police Respond to Armed Robbery in George Town

Just after 12:40PM on Saturday, 13 December, officers responded to a report of a robbery at a jewellery store on Fort Street. It was reported that two masked men, one carrying a gun, entered the store, smashed glass display cases and made off with a quantity of jewellery. No shots were fired and no one was injured during the incident.

Police responded immediately and conducted enquiries, which led to the recovery of a vehicle and other items nearby.

The RCIPS is aware of concerns regarding recent robbery incidents, and are conducting proactive operations to disrupt this activity and apprehend those responsible. One such operation was conducted on Friday night in the Bodden Town area, in pursuit of a suspect. These operations will continue in the coming days, alongside Operation Winter Guardian.
