Police Week returns after 28 years RCIPS Announces Police Week 2024

This year, the RCIPS will be hosting Police Week for the first time in 28 years and it will take place between November 4th – 8th.  This is an internationally recognised event, which honours, highlights and lend peer support to police officers across the globe.  It also allows retirees and the families of late police officers to gather and pay homage to those who dedicate their lives to policing and service to country.

The theme of this year’s Police Week is Honouring the Past, Embracing the Present, Securing the Future.

The aim is to ensure that the organisation displays its characteristics of being diverse and inclusive, while also highlighting the times past that moulded our police service into what it is today.  In so doing, one of the features of Police Week will be a Police Museum that will be displayed and will be open to the public all week long.

In order to recreate the RCIPS of the past, they are appealing to former and retired police officers as well as to the families of officers who have passed, for any police artefacts, pictures or records that you may have in your possession. The service would like to restore those items if necessary and display them in the museum, highlighting your service to the Cayman Islands and the service of your loved ones. Please email PoliceWeek@rcips.ky  in order to have items displayed in the Police Museum.

During the week, the RCIPS will also host the Volunteer Law Enforcement Officer Alliance (VLEOA) Training Conference for the first time in the Cayman Islands.  The VLEOA global members will also participate in Police Week activities for a historical appreciation and evolution of Policing in the Cayman Islands as well to enjoy our beautiful islands.

The RCIPS are excited to share this news of Police Week 2024 and look forward to celebrating 117 years of policing in the Cayman Islands with the community
