The Ministry of Education today (29 September) announced that the Prospect Primary School will reopen on Thursday, 30 September 2021. The members of the affected class will remain in quarantine with members of their households for 14 days, as per directives from Public Health.
Prospect Primary School was closed on 28 September after Public Health confirmed that a Year six student of the school tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.
The school will be moving to the mandatory health and safety protocols that are outlined in the Ministry of Education’s COVID-19 Guidance for Educational Institutions.
Parents are advised if their child develops flu-like symptoms to contact their primary care physician or the Flu Hotline at 947-3077, 925-6327 or 1-800-534-8600.
Alternately, they can take the child to the Flu Clinic at Cayman Islands Hospital, Monday to Friday, 8 am-4 pm or to the Accident and Emergency Department outside of those hours.
Symptoms of COVID 19 are usually runny nose, headache, cough, sore throat, fever, diarrhoea, loss of smell or taste.
