Quinntessential Movement is set to captivate audiences with a bold, new approach to classic fairytales in their upcoming pole and aerial theatre production, Once Upon Another Time.

This unique performance, running from June 6-8 at the Harquail Theatre, will shine a light on the untold stories of the villains from six iconic stories.

The production will blend stunning pole and aerial choreography, powerful dance numbers and live vocals to delve into the untold backstories and motivations of some of film’s most infamous antagonists. The show aims to challenge perceptions and uncover a different perspective on the creation of a villain.

“In Once Upon Another Time, we explore the idea that even the most notorious villains have their own struggles, desires, and circumstances that lead them to become who they are,” said Quinn McCrimmon, owner and instructor at Quinntessential Movement.

The characters featured in this production include:

• The Wicked Witch of the West (The Wizard of Oz)

• Gaston (Beauty and the Beast)

• The Evil Queen (Snow White)

• Harley Quinn (Batman)

• Ursula (The Little Mermaid)

• Dr. Facilier (The Princess and the Frog)

Each character will have a chance to rewrite their story and show a side never before seen.

“Through aerial and pole dance, as well as breathtaking choreography, we are telling stories that go beyond the surface—bringing emotional depth and complexity to each villain,” said Mrs. McCrimmon.

“The cast, choreographers and volunteers have poured countless hours into creating a performance that is not only visually stunning but also emotionally impactful.”

Once Upon Another Time marks Quinntessential Movement’s sixth production at the Harquail Theatre.

Previous performances include beloved classics Alice in Wonderland, The Wizard of Oz, and Peter Pan, as well as original productions Across The Universe and The Enchanted Snow Globe—the latter being the studio’s first charity production in partnership with the Cayman Islands Cancer Society.

Following this partnership last December, Quinntessential Movement is once again giving back to the community. A portion of all ticket sales will be donated to two impactful local organizations: the Cayman Islands Cancer Society and the Alex Panton Foundation.

These charities hold deep personal significance for many of the volunteers involved in the production, making this initiative especially meaningful.

“These charities provide critical support to individuals battling cancer and mental health challenges,” Mrs. McCrimmon shared. “By supporting these causes, we hope to highlight the importance of looking beyond the surface and understanding the deeper struggles that many people face.”

“A special thanks goes to What’s On Cayman, NCB Property Management, Grand Cayman Villas & Condos, FS8, Foster’s and Ogier for their generous support in helping to raise funds for these amazing causes,” Mrs. McCrimmon notes.
