RCIPS Deploys Police Helicopter to Turks & Caicos for Support
The RCIPS has deployed a police helicopter and flight crew to the Turks & Caicos Islands, to provide support in response to recent serious violent crimes in the British Overseas Territory (BOT).
The deployment of the helicopter and its crew is being funded and supported by the TCI Government and the Foreign & Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO).
The helicopter will provide the Royal Turks & Caicos Police Force with aerial support during their national security operations.
“As I have said previously, it is important that we support our BOT colleagues whenever possible,” says Commissioner of Police Kurt Walton. “Our second helicopter was purchased with additional funding from the FCDO, partly to enable us to provide assistance when needed, while maintaining local security. We are happy to be able to do so for Turks & Caicos during this critical time.”
The second RCIPS police helicopter remains in the Cayman Islands, ensuring continued coverage of local operational needs.
