The Hamaty 5k is hugely popular
For local fitness enthusiasts, the 4th annual Robert Hamaty Memorial 5K Walk/Run is approaching and an ideal easy event to start getting that vacation weight gain off.
It is on Sunday 27 September, starting and finishing at Camana Bay and will be hosted by the Cayman Heart Foundation in partnership with Tortuga Rum Company.
This family-friendly and pet-friendly event begins at 6:30am and welcomes walkers and runners of all ages and fitness levels to come together in support of heart health and community wellness. Held in loving memory of Capt. Robert Hamaty, the event continues to honour his legacy while raising awareness for cardiovascular health across the Cayman Islands.
Capt. ‘Robbie’ (1947–2020) was a Jamaican-born airline pilot, entrepreneur, and diplomat best known as the founder of the world-famous Tortuga Rum Company.
